i think exploratory experimental initiatives like this are cool and sensible in theory, but given canonical's history, they'll probably incompetently follow up any research progress with premature implementations and then let sunk costs justify further waste and bad development. so i'm like...yeah, the headline is sensational (and wrong), but it may (and probably) turn out to be not sensational (and correct).

the idea of using ai to automate this shit is cool, and orgs eating the cost to figure it out is cool, but the brain blasted hype sheep dumb fucks driving business will find a way to turn the cool stuff into consumer-driven garbage.

I don’t understand this. If AI is writing all the code, what’s the point of Rust? Surely AI can write memory safe assembly.
