kinda skipped through this and didn't really care about the sort of vanity-aspect of the video, but the wiring and routing stuff was interesting. i'm curious about the feasibility of rewiring older homes (specifically: mine). everything is hidden behind 'permanent' structure, so it seems like you'd essentially have to either tear out the sheetrock and refit/replace wiring as required, or disconnect the existing wiring at the breaker panel, then route exposed conduit on the walls (which is terrible for gathering dust and shit). it's annoying to me that there are multiple coax cables running along the eaves of my house, too. the previous owner didn't even install fixtures, just let the cable company punch holes in the sheetrock with the cables sticking out. i guess the move there would be to take all that coax down, then reroute it through the attic to the desired walls. i guess you'd also have to drill through the top plate of the studs. that seems like a cool project, i guess. cooler than tearing all the drywall out of my house just so i can be electrocuted to death.

I just went through this last week. They told me it would cost like $10k to do what I wanted, so I'm just sticking with wifi for most things for now. I'll build my server room when I build my dream house someday.
