i've been watching a lot of videos about how to be a gamer (specifically on linux), and i've noticed that most of these guys don't know anything about how computers work, which i guess is why so many of them are in abusive relationships with microsoft windows. i doubt i could even motivate myself to build a new pc if i knew i'd have to install windows on it.

gamers on youtube remind me of the typical clueless idiot who sells computers at best buy, only worse, because they willingly and unironically wear those hideous and ill-fitting polo shirts in their spare time (not just because their job requires it). they also seem to enjoy earrings and goatees, as if it's still the year two thousand, and they get all their internet entertainment from websites like gyrate dot org.

you might think that if a person was willing to sit in front of a magic box for 16 hours per day for years on end, they might eventually get curious about how it works, but that would be assuming way too much from the average person. even the stupidest idiot could set aside a tiny amount of time each day to learn the most basic things about how computers work, then use that knowledge to get rich (ask me how i know). but i guess it's more fun for most people to spend 100% of their free time playing video games and being poor (and unfashionable) for the rest of their lives.

for the record, the correct order of operations is:

1. learn how computers work
2. learn how to dress yourself
3. get rich
4. retire early
5. forget how to dress yourself
6. spend the rest of your life playing video games and being a dork on the computer
